Salary: £30,000 – £40,000
Head of Business Development
Salary: £38,000 – £46,000 (Per annum, full time equivalent and dependent on experience)
Employment Type: Permanent full-time role (can be 4 days weekly with salary pro-rata)

Role Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and driven Business Development Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing business strategies, creating a roadmap for future growth, and driving the acquisition of new signatory organisations. The role involves close collaboration with the Director to agree on strategies and ensure alignment with organisational goals.
We are recruiting for one person, and open to considering this position as a Head of Business Development for candidates with proven experience at that level, who can lead and expand a Business Development team as our organisation grows.
Main hours of work:
Full time equivalent is 35 hour per week – Monday to Thursday 9am-5pm, Friday 9am-4pm, with some flexibility required when attending breakfast or evening events.
This is a full-time position, but we are open to considering part-time (four-day week) or flexible arrangements for the right candidate. We offer a hybrid work model that combines the flexibility of working from home with access to our fully equipped, city centre office.
Key responsibilities:
- Meet and exceed new signatory targets, contributing to the overall growth and success of the
organisation. - Develop and implement business development strategies to attract and onboard new signatory
organisations. - Create a comprehensive roadmap for business growth, identifying key opportunities and potential
challenges. - Collaborate closely with the Director to agree on strategies and ensure alignment with organisational goals.
- Work in close collaboration with the Head of Engagement to align business development efforts with the overarching vision and mission of Diversity Mark.
- Engage with senior-level stakeholders, presenting and promoting the benefits of joining Diversity Mark.
- Plan, organise, and host events for senior stakeholders to promote Diversity Mark and foster
engagement and senior level buy in - Utilise CRM systems to manage leads, track progress, and analyse data to optimise strategies.
- Utilise Microsoft Excel or other analytics tools for data analysis and reporting.
- Demonstrate initiative and drive to explore new business opportunities and develop creative solutions.
- Manage budgets effectively, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to meet business development goals.
Mandatory Criteria:
- At least 5 years of experience in a business development or sales role, with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding targets.
- Energetic, enthusiastic, and positive attitude, with a passion for promoting diversity and inclusion.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
- Candidates should have excellent communication skills including public speaking, with a proven ability to deliver clear and engaging presentations to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Valid UK driving license and have access to own vehicle.
Beneficial Criteria / Essential for Head of Business Development role:
- Experience in developing a Sales Strategy and implementation plan.
- Experience in event management, particularly in hosting events for senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in business-to-business (B2B) sales and a deep understanding of the
corporate environment. - Line management responsibilities will be required as the Business Development team expands.
