Inclusive Recruitment, Promotion and Allyship
November 29, 2023
We have Nicola McGuinness in this ‘Lunch n Learn’ session who will talk through the basics of inclusive recruitment from the initial job specification to advertising, interviewing and onboarding, thus ensuring you are doing all you can to attract a diverse talent pool.
The session will highlight good practices when it comes to retention and advancement of your female talent. Nicola will finish up touching on ‘Allyship’ and the importance of standing up against inequality and supporting and advocating for the underprivileged.
Nicola is an experienced coach and leadership consultant whose mission is to ensure that workplace is an environment where people can create a meaningful impact and gain fulfilment from their role.
Nicola is deeply passionate about gender equality which has led to her founding and continuing to lead the Lean In Network located in Newry. The organisation has over 400 members. She also delivers EDI programmes through her own business and for Lean In across the world which has resulted in an expanded cultural awareness and understanding of the unique challenges women and under-represented groups face in the workplace.

Diversity Mark Industry Peer Event with Labour Relations Agency
April 25, 2023
We are delighted to announce our upcoming Industry Peer Event in partnership with Labour Relations Agency taking place virtually Tuesday 25th April 2023 at 10:00am.
The Labour Relations Agency provides free, impartial and confidential services to employers, employer bodies, employees and workers in Northern Ireland, as well as Trade Unions, HR and legal professionals. These services include advice on good employment practice and the resolution of workplace disputes through conciliation, mediation, arbitration and independent appeals.
Claire Webb, EDI Manager will be talking about:
– The LRA’s equity, diversity and inclusion journey so far
– An overview of the Agency’s good practice advisory work, with a spotlight on preventing and tackling sexual harassment in the workplaceWe will close the event with an audience Q&A session to allow the opportunity for sharing of best practice.

Diversity Mark Lunch and Learn Session with TinyLife

We are delighted to host a Lunch and Learn Style session with TinyLife.
TinyLife are Northern Ireland’s premature baby charity here to help provide support services both in the Neonatal Unit and in the community. Over the last 34 years, they have increased the range of family support services, funded medical research, developed informative publications and influenced thinking around the care of premature babies.
Almost 2000 babies spent time in Northern Ireland’s Neonatal units last year and as employers its important to be progressive and compassionate, understanding that going beyond the current legal requirements can have a long lasting and far-reaching impact on both your employees and bottom line.
Join TinyLife CEO Alison McNulty and other Diversity Mark signatories to hear the importance of brining neonatal awareness and procedures into the workplace.

FinTrU and TinyLife Event

Currently, 1 in 13 babies in the UK are born premature with 1,900 babies born prematurely in Northern Ireland every year.
FinTrU worked alongside TinyLife to create a new policy that will give access to six weeks additional maternity leave for their employees while partners can avail of two weeks additional and flexible paternity leave.Join us at this event to hear from FinTrU, TinyLife and the employees who were the catalyst for the policy being put in place.
