By Christine White, Director at Diversity Mark
As the year draws to a close, I am reflecting on the strides Diversity Mark has made during 2024. This has been a pivotal year of transition as we developed and launched Diversity Mark 2.0 – our enhanced support systems which have been designed to help our Signatory organisations stay committed to meaningful progress on their accreditation journey.
A key milestone in this journey was the launch of our new Technology Platform and dedicated Signatory Portal at our Annual Summit in October, hosted at the iconic Titanic Belfast. This innovative portal is revolutionizing the way organisations approach diversity and inclusion. By streamlining the assessment process and improving data collection, we are equipping organisations with the tools to gather actionable insights and shape informed, data-driven targets. This advancement will also enable us to provide a comprehensive report on Northern Ireland’s progress because today, 1 in 4 people in Northern Ireland works for an employer committed to the Diversity Mark accreditation journey – a testament to the growing momentum for meaningful change.
This year also saw another historic achievement: our second-ever Gold Diversity Mark was awarded to Danske Bank UK, recognising their exemplary commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace. Their leadership sets an inspiring benchmark for other organisations on their journey.
We have also recently strengthened our team with the addition of Todd Engman, who brings a wealth of experience to spearhead our expansion plans. His expertise will be instrumental as we extend our reach and support to even more organisations in the years ahead.
Looking to 2025, we are committed to deepening our support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and focusing on sector-specific strategies to ensure our approach is tailored to the unique challenges and opportunities within different industries. These initiatives will build on our core mission of driving progress and fostering accountability in diversity and inclusion.
As we reflect on the progress of 2024, I am incredibly grateful for the commitment of our signatories, Assessors and team who make our work possible. Together, we are building a future where diversity and inclusion are not just aspirations but a lived reality across workplaces.
Here’s to continued collaboration and impactful progress in 2025.
