Translink Hosts Breakfast to Mark Silver Accreditation

Translink, in partnership with Diversity Mark, hosted a thought-provoking Diversity & Inclusion Breakfast at Belfast Grand Central Station, bringing together senior leaders from across all sectors to explore the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

Chris Conway, Chief Executive of Translink, opened the event with reflections on Translink’s ongoing journey and commitment to inclusion and equality and the progress made over recent years -including the company’s recent achievement in retaining its Silver Diversity Mark accreditation, a testament to its continued commitment to inclusion and equality.

Christine White, Director of Diversity Mark, spoke about the Diversity Mark accreditation journey and its powerful impact across Northern Ireland – from supporting people from disadvantaged backgrounds, women, and working families seeking greater flexibility, to welcoming people of all backgrounds and empowering people with disabilities through inclusive recruitment and development opportunities.  Will Young, Independent Assessor for Diversity Mark, shared valuable insights into the role of the Assessors and how they work alongside organisations on what is often a truly transformational journey.  Jacqui Kennedy, Chief People & Corporate Services Officer at Translink, followed with an inspiring overview of Translink’s Diversity Mark journey, reflecting on their progress since 2019 and the key initiatives that have helped foster a more inclusive and supportive workplace culture.

Attendees then took part in interactive table discussions facilitated by Diversity Mark’s Head of Business Development, Todd Engman, building networks and sharing insights on the challenges and opportunities in advancing diversity and inclusion.

Attendees were from a range of forward-thinking organisations such as Ulster University, Belfast City Council, Carson McDowell, Farrans, EY, WorkPlus, MCS, NI Water, AtkinsRéalis, BT, Fitzwilliam Hotel, and Danske Bank – all contributing to rich, collaborative conversations.

A huge thank-you to Chris Conway and everyone at Translink for hosting such an inspiring event in such a spectacular venue.
