FinTrU Reaffirms Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion at City of London Event

Diversity Mark Silver accredited FinTrU, proudly reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion by hosting the City of London’s Women Pivoting to Digital Taskforce roundtable at their Meter House building.

Christine White, Director at Diversity Mark was delighted to attend and contribute to the event, which was held in collaboration with the City of London, Belfast Chamber, and FinTrU. The roundtable brought together leaders from government, financial and professional services, and senior industry figures to explore the power of reskilling, upskilling, and widening traditional talent pipelines.

Key discussion points included the digital skills landscape, barriers for women in tech, and the journey of pivoting mid-career professionals into digital roles. A recurring theme was the critical role untapped female talent can play in addressing workforce shortages and driving productivity and growth.

The City of London’s Women Pivoting to Digital Taskforce focuses on tackling the underrepresentation of women in digital careers by supporting mid-career transitions. With fewer than 20% of AI and data roles held by women, and even fewer in broader IT roles.

The event was attended by representatives from FinTrU and other financial services organisations, as well as key public figures including Minister for the Economy Caoimhe Archibald and Head of the Northern Ireland Civil Service Jayne Brady.

“Our commitment to diversity and inclusion has been vital to FinTrU’s success to date and remains a top priority for our future. We have built a workplace where everyone can belong, thrive, and reach their full potential,” says Sinead Carville, Chief People Officer, FinTrU.

Thanks to FinTrU, a Diversity Mark Silver-accredited organisation for hosting the event and demonstrating a strong, ongoing commitment to fostering a more diverse and inclusive workplace. Since joining Diversity Mark in 2019, FinTrU has introduced a wide range of progressive policies and initiatives designed to support all employees. Their progress was formally recognised in 2021 when they were awarded the Silver Diversity Mark accreditation.
